Membership

What are the benefits of Membership?

The principal benefits are:

  1. Members can purchase Dinner tickets at a significantly lower tariff (see below) than non-Members and their ticket applications are always dealt with as a priority, ahead of non-Members. As a consequence, Members are also given priority with their table positions at the venue.
  2. Members receive complimentary bow-ties (see below) and are encouraged to wear them at the Dinner Events.
  3. Members will always be advised of forthcoming Events (Dinner dates are also fixed up to 12 months ahead to facilitate planning and budgeting) and are at liberty to choose the format. ie by email, fax or letter post. Furthermore, Members are automatically reminded if they have not responded to a mailing within a given period of time, BUT….
  4. Members are not bound or in any way obligated to buy tickets for all or indeed any of the Events in a given Membership Season and they are therefore at liberty to decline to attend an Event.
  5. Members will hopefully enjoy and feel proud of the privilege of Membership and certainly its exclusivity, once the Membership reaches its capacity – this is governed by the capacity at the venue. Thereafter, opportunities for non-Members to support a particular Event can only be given if and when a Member(s) declines to attend.

Details of Membership

We offer two tiers of Membership, as follows:

A Standard Member may purchase up to 4 guest tickets.ie 5 in all.
A Corporate Member is guaranteed an exclusive table for any number of persons, up to 12.

Membership of the Club is open (until it reaches capacity – see above) and can be in the name of an individual person or a business/company. In practice, the vast majority of memberships across the network of Clubs are in business names. Also, individuals and/or companies are at liberty to combine and share either a standard or a corporate membership, to secure a ‘regular’ table and minimize the cost.

The minimum price for Members’ tickets is reviewed and advised to Members at the beginning of each Membership Year/Season (not necessarily a calendar year) and we endeavour to hold that price throughout the Membership Season. However, we reserve the right to vary the price marginally in order to accommodate higher profile speakers (who, unfortunately, can be very expensive).

Until the membership reaches capacity, Members can apply for extra tickets – subject to availability. However, Standard Members will be charged an additional premium (in the range, £15 to £20 + VAT per extra ticket) so as to protect the allocation rights of Corporate Members who are always guaranteed an exclusive table. Corporate Members may also apply for additional tickets (at the Members’ rate) or even an extra table, subject only to availability.
Thereafter, any surplus tickets will be offered to non-members, also at the premium rate, as referred to above.

The Annual Membership Subscription rates are:-

Standard Membership – £185 +VAT – and includes a complimentary members’ bow tie.
Corporate Membership – £370 +VAT – and includes 3 complimentary members’ bow ties.

For Members who join during any given Season, the subscription due is reduced pro rata by 25% of the annual fee after each quarterly Event has taken place.
